There has been a big decrease in software engineering jobs, and salaries are also down by about 10% across various technologies like Lua, Ruby, C Sharp, HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL, and JavaScript. This drop is because many people are looking for work, and there are fewer job postings. More full-time workers are now seeking jobs, which lowers average salaries. Comparing this year to last year, the change is noticeable. Even C++, R, and Python have seen salary drops, which is surprising given the rise in AI tech that uses these languages. For example, PyTorch and LibTorch use C, and Python is popular in data science. Despite the demand for AI, salaries are still down by about $10,000 because of the high unemployment rate, which is more than double that of other job types.
